About

Rich Soil Press is committed to publishing books, ebooks, and audiobooks that bring to life credible and engaging microhistory.

We are committed to identifying lesser known microhistories that have the potential to transform–to add nuance, valuable granular insight and depth to big-picture, large-scale, widely-held understandings of history.

Titles published at Rich Soil Press have as a central driving force a focus on the historical investigation of clearly defined smaller units of research such as single events, local places, communities, individuals or families. In their aspirations, however, these microhistorical works can be distinguished from simple case studies, genealogies or family histories insofar as they also aim to “[ask] large questions in small places,” to draw on the words of historian Charles Joyner.

We are committed to providing an excellent experience to our customers and authors. We value those who read and purchase our books. We also seek to support and celebrate the authors and others on our team who are so vital to creating the quality content that enriches the knowledge and understanding of our readers.
